Rihanna received the first ever Icon Award at the American Music Awards in Los Angeles last night.
After performing one of her twelve Billboard Hot 100 number ones, "Diamonds," Rihanna accepted the award from a special guest, her mother, Monica Fenty.
"There are so many people I have to thank for this success and for keeping me sane," Rihanna said during her acceptance speech. "My fans I love you so much. You keep me driven. You keep this thing special. I can't believe, at 25 years old, I'm holding an Icon Award. That is weird to even say out loud."
