After testing the waters in seven markets this past summer, “The Real” talk show featuring Tamar Braxton, Adrienne Bailon, Tamera Mowry-Housley, Loni Love, and Jeannie Mai has gotten the green light to return to FOX affiliates for a two-year deal in the fall of 2014 for national syndication. Along with airing on FOX, “The Real” will also air on BET, much like “The Wendy Williams Show.”
WBTVD President Ken Werner said, “This summer, the daytime landscape in seven Fox markets was dramatically altered when the women of The Real exploded on to the air. ‘The Real’ brought viewers a unique combination of elements that were missing from daytime, a real, multi-cultural conversation about issues that women of all ages are talking about.”
About her experience on the show, “The Real” co-host Adrienne Bailon told Singersroom earlier this month, “I had an amaaazing time doing that show. I come from a family of strong women and it just reminded me of hanging out with my cousins, my sister, my mom, my aunts and us just piling up in the kitchen and having a conversation. Actually, it’s funny cause sometimes I would forget that is was a job. I would feel like I just hair and makeup to go and hang out with my girlfriends. We had great chemistry and we now have a great friendship we’re like a sisterhood.”
