2013 AMAs: Justin Timberlake, Rihanna, and Robin Thicke Lead Nominations

The 2013 American Music Awards (AMAs) nominations were announced this morning at a press conference, which took place at BB King Blues Club & Grill in New York City.

Leading the way with six (6) nominations this year are Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, who garnered an exponential amount of success from single "Thrift Shop." Justin Timberlake and Taylor Swift follow close behind with five (5) nods each while Rihanna and Robin Thicke collect four (4). In addition, Bruno Mars logged three nods.

This year's Artist of the Year nominees will be a battle as Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Bruno Mars, Rihanna, Taylor Swift, and Justin Timberlake chase the crown.

In the Favorite Male Artist (Soul/R&B), Miguel, Robin Thicke, and Justin Timberlake will battle it out while Ciara, Alicia Keys, and Rihanna will face off in the Favorite Female category. In addition, Rihanna, Robin Thicke, and Justin Timberlake will battle for Favorite Album in the Soul R&B category.

"Twerk" princess Miley Cyrus, Jessie McCartney and Imagine Dragons were some of the first announced performers with more to be announced in the coming weeks.

The 2013 American Music Awards will broadcast live from the Nokia Theatre Sunday November 24th at 8PM on ABC.
