Backstreet Boys’ Nick Carter Talks Cocaine Use, Brain Damage In New Memoir

Nick Carter not only says that dating Paris Hilton was a big mistake, he admits that he has suffered brain damage due to taking drugs, like ecstasy, and drinking hard at the height of Backstreet Boys and solo success.

"I could’ve ended up a tragedy. During the height of my problems, I did Ecstasy, cocaine and drank a large bottle of vodka a night," Carter opened up to In Touch Weekly earlier this week, promoting his new book, "Facing The Music and Living To Talk About It."

According to Carter, Ecstasy has caused "changes" to his brain.

"I regret taking Ecstasy. The amount I did caused changes to my brain that are responsible for my bouts of depression now," said Carter.

Dating Paris Hilton didn't help either…

"Paris was the worst person in the world for me to hook up with," he wrote in an excerpt from his book. "She fed my worst impulses as far as partying."

Nick Carter's "Facing The Music and Living To Talk About It" is available now.
