Black Eyed Peas frontman and solo star Will.i.am is no longer in the running for a seat on the next season of "American Idol."
Putting rumors to rest once and for all late last week, Will.i.am signed a deal to appear on the UK version of "The Voice" instead of opting to sit with Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban.
Will.i.am's coaching seat on "The Voice" may be a better fit for him. After all, his music has been well embraced in the UK, including his album, "#Willpower," which reached the top 5 on the Official Charts Company album chart.
Will.i.am joins Tom Jones, who is expected to return for what will be the competition series' third season.
It's unclear who might officially be in the running for Will.i.am's 'Idol' seat, but it is rumored that producer Dr. Luke is in talks to join the panel following the exits of Nicki Minaj, Mariah Carey and Randy Jackson.
