The 2013 MTV Video Music Awards will kick off with none other than Lady Gaga, opening the show with the debut live performance of "Applause," the first single from her anticipated album ARTPOP, this Sunday.
"From her powerful and bloody rendition of "Paparazzi" to the gender bending, adrenaline fueled version of "You and I," Lady Gaga is the mastermind behind some of the most memorable VMA performances in recent years. This year, she'll continue that legacy with what's sure to be an unforgettable performance of "Applause" from her forthcoming album, ARTPOP, available on November 11," reports MTV.
As widely reported, Gaga released the music video for "Applause" earlier this week, setting the stage for her return to the VMAs and the music industry.
Expect additional performances from Justin Timberlake, Kanye West, Katy Perry, Bruno Mars, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Miley Cyrus and Robin Thicke at Sunday's MTV Video Music Awards, which premieres at 9 p.m. on MTV.
