Iyanla Vanzant dreamed it up as an exercise for her show "Iyanla, Fix My Life."
Now, Syleena Johnson and her mother have put their story, both good and bad, to not only pen, but music on a new song titled "My Heart Is Open."
Debuted at the closing of Saturday's moving episode of "Iyanla, Fix My Life," where Iyanla worked closely to help mend the relationships between Syleena, her sisters and both of their parents, the song tackles both women's thoughts and their mother-daughter relationship.
"God gave me permission to open my heart," Syleena Johnson sings on the track.
