Actor Cory Monteith, best known for portraying Finn Hudson on the hit FOX series "Glee" has died.
Monteith, 31, was found dead late Saturday in his room at the Fairmont Rim Hotel in Vancouver.
It is unclear what the cause of death was, but officials have ruled out foul play.
"On behalf of the Vancouver Police, I want to pass on our condolences to the family, friends, castmates and millions of fans of Mr. Monteith," acting police chief Doug LePard said in a statement. "As was the case in countless homes, I watched 'Glee' regularly with my daughters, and I know there will be shock and sadness in many households with the news of his tragic death."
Monteith checked in at the hotel last Saturday, July 6, and was due to check out Saturday. When he failed to check out, staff entered his room.
Authorities believe he was alone at the time of his death.
As previously reported, Monteith entered a rehabilitation facility in April, citing substance abuse and addiction issues.
"Cory is a beloved member of the Glee family and we fully support his decision to seek treatment,” a spokesman for FOX said at the time. “Everyone at the show wishes him well and looks forward to his return.”
In June, pictures of Monteith returning and filming for "Glee" were taken.
