Fresh off a promotional blitz that included performances and interviews on programs such as "The Wendy Williams Show," "Watch What Happens Live" and "Good Morning America," Kelly Rowland has some good news to celebrate.
Her new album, "Talk A Good Game," has reportedly exceeded sales projections and will land within the Top 10 on the Billboard 200 albums chart.
According to trusted source HDD, "Talk A Good Game" sold over 65,000 copies in its first week of release (beginning June 18).
Projections from last week indicated that the album would sell around 60,000 copies.
While this is great news for Kelly, who is also judging and mentoring on the upcoming third season of "X Factor USA" (FOX), her last album, "Here I Am," actually fared better in terms of first week sales.
On the strength of the hit single "Motivation," that album debuted with 77,000 copies sold first-week.
"It's her highest charting album yet, surpassing the No. 6 peak of her last release, 2007's "Ms. Kelly," which bowed with 83,000. Rowland's "Here" was led by the single "Motivation," which spent seven weeks at No. 1 on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart," Billboard reported in 2011.
Official chart positions on the Billboard 200, R&B/Hip Hop Albums and R&B Albums charts (for "Talk A Good Game") will be released later today (Wednesday).
