Grammy winning singer-songwriter Marsha Ambrosius is letting her pen game do the talking on her latest offering "Sky." Currently recording her sophomore album, Friends & Lovers, Ambrosius blesses fans with the inspirational and heartfelt piano ballad, which came to her in a dream.
"I was compelled to write and play this song because I heard it in a dream," says Ambrosius. "I was out in LA doing a couple of writing session a couple of weeks ago and this song happened. Flying back to Philadelphia the other day, I captured footage of the clouds on my iPhone. Felt only right to put the two together as I reflected on the lives lost these past couple of weeks. Jimme Wall Street, Lil Snupe, Aunty. I can listen to this and remember. I can listen to this and want to forget. I can listen to this and mend a broken heart or feel it break. I made this song to FEEL!"
Back in March (2013), Ambrosius told Singersroom that her upcoming opus will be "real."
She insist: "Just the new album, Friends & Lovers, that’s my baby, well baby number 2. I feel like I’m definitely pregnant with the little one, which is the second album. And it’s absolutely; it just feel crazy this time around because it’s real. The first time around was like, let me get the album out, let’s make sure the album is right, let me do what I need to do and I did that to myself. I put all of the things I need to do on the album with the last album. But, the second album is more concentrated, it’s very conceptual. I enjoy being absolutely single with some friends and lovers."
