Fans will have to wait a bit longer for Mariah Carey's new album. After announcing a July 23 released date for her forthcoming much-anticipated fourteenth studio album, The Art of Letting Go, the international diva has pushed the project back to improve its content.
"While making this album, I got so immersed in the creative process that I just don't feel I would be doing it justice to release it on 7/23," Carey wrote on Twitter. "I'd rather not exclude meaningful songs. I want to give you this album as it's meant to be heard. When I'm ready, you'll be the first 2 know!"
A new release date has not been set.
The upcoming opus is led by the duet single "#Beautiful," featuring R&B crooner Miguel. The record reached No. 15 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart and peaked at No. 3 on the U.S. R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart.
Until the project's release, you can catch Mariah performing at the upcoming BET Awards, Macy's 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular, and Major League Baseball's July 13 benefit concert for Superstorm Sandy relief, which will be held on Central Park's Great Lawn in NYC.
