Robin Thicke Strikes No. 1 In The UK, ‘Blurred Lines’ Sets Record

Robin Thicke just had a major moment on the UK Singles Chart. Not only has his single, "Blurred Lines," reached the top spot. The song is now listed as the "fastest selling single of 2013" in the UK.

"Blurred Lines has also become the fastest selling single of 2013 so far, shifting an incredible 190,000 copies during its first week on sale. This beats 2013’s previous first week record of 145,000 copies, which was set by last week’s Number 1 single La La La by Naughty Boy FT Sam Smith (Number 2)," The Official Charts reports.

Featuring Pharrell and T.I., the single topped current music from Demi Lovato, Naughty Boy, Daft Punk, Passenger, Jessie J, Olly Murs and 2 Chainz.

"It is an honour and a pleasure to be Number 1 in the UK,” Robin told The Official Charts in a statement. "It’s something I’ve always dreamed of, and I am so grateful to all the people who made this dream come true. Thank you!"
