According to the Hollywood Reporter, Jamie Foxx is in negotiations to join the youngest actress to receive a nomination for the Academy Award for Best Actress, Quvenzhané Wallis, in the upcoming remake of the classic musical “Annie.”
Foxx would play a character named Benjamin Stacks, an adaptation of the character Daddy Warbucks, the rich man who takes little orphan Annie in.
Directed by Will Gluck, producers include big names such as Will Smith, Jada Pinkett-Smith, and Jay-Z. Production is scheduled to begin in late Fall 2013 and slated to be released in 2014.
Foxx is currently filming “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” as the villain Electro, and will star as the president in “White House Down” which hits theaters on June 28.
