Rihanna is planning to extend the revenue stream from her upcoming tour documentary, "Rihanna 777 Documentary: 7Countries7Days7Shows." After previously inking a deal with FOX, to premiere the feature on national TV, the pop star is now prepping a DVD release.
The Rihanna 777 Documentary screens seven promotional performances, shot in seven cities (Mexico City, Toronto, Stockholm, Paris, Berlin, London and New York) in seven days. The shooting took place on the week prior to the "Stay" hitmaker's recently released seventh studio, Unapologetic, in which she brought 150 journalists and a select group of fans on the one week trek.
"It was different having to do your job but also have 200 guests come along with you," she told England's Radio 1 about the experience. "They all want you to host a party every time you get on the plane after a show but you really only have that time to sleep until you get to the next country … Sometimes it was a two-hour ride to the next country and that was all the sleep you would get."
Rihanna 777" will air May 6 at 8PM on Fox, and get the full 77-minute version on DVD May 7th. Pre-order Now!
