Simply…the Billboard Awards has been great for Rihanna. Securing double digit nominations almost every year, the pop superstar has logged 10 categories for the upcoming 2013 awards. The "Stay" hitmaker is one shy behind category leaders Maroon 5, Taylor Swift, and fun.
In 2011, Rihanna scored 18 nominations and followed in 2012 with 13 categories. Finalists are based on key fan interactions with music, including album and digital singles sales, radio airplay, touring, streaming and social interactions on Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, VEVO, Spotify and other popular online destinations for music.
The 2013 Billboard awards will air live on Sunday, May 19 beginning at 8/7c on ABC from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas.
