This Easter Sunday, be sure to tune into the 21st Annual Trumpet Awards to witness notable African-Americans get honored for their achievements. Hosted by radio host and comedian Ricky Smiley and actress Essence Atkins, the night’s honorees include musicians Chaka Khan and Charlie Wilson, film and TV producer Debra Martin-Chase, philanthropists Alonzo and Tracy Mourning, Mayor Kasim Reed, businessman Edward Welburn Jr., and community service pro Michael McMillan.
The honorees will be serenaded by a who’s who of Gospel/R&B vocalists, including Fantasia, Anthony Hamilton, Luke James, Avant, Tamela Mann, Linda Herring, Jennifer Herring, Jennifer Holliday and the R&B Divas cast Keke Wyatt, Nicci Gilbert-Daniels, Syleena Johnson, LaTocha Scott and Monifah.
Presenters include Eva Marcille, Tom Joyner, and Tika Sumpter.
The 21st Annual Trumpet Awards will air on Sunday, March 31 AT 8 PM EST on TV One, an re-air at 11 PM EST.
