Songs switching hands in the music industry is common, usually with one artist turning down a song and another picking it up. This common practice is highlighted on VH1's Love & Hip-Hop between Erica Mena and Olivia.
Originally, manager Rich Dollaz suggested both client Olivia and client/girlfriend Erica Mena record “Where Do I Go From Here” as a duet. When Olivia declined, Mena proceeded to do the song herself. The heavily-auto tuned ballad hit iTunes, but when her business and personal relationship with manager Rich Dollaz fell apart, Dollaz felt the need to not waste a perfectly good song, and gave it to his client, singer-songwriter Olivia. That decision turns out to be a good move, because her recently released version hit iTunes at the No. 10 spot on the R&B/Soul charts.
