August Alsina reps the hood on his remix of Justin Timberlake's new single "Suit & Tie." Instead of fronting about being someone he's not, the New Orleans native shows that he's about that life on “Shoot or Die.” Produced by Knucklehead (Gucci Mane, Rocko), The Exclusives (The Roots, Karmin, Lloyd) and Alsina, the track affirms that the 20-year-old will do what he has to do to win and won't let anyone stand in his way.
"Shoot or Die" will appear on Alsina's forthcoming mixtape, The Product II, due out March 11.
Alsina is currently working on his debut album via Def Jam. The project will be co-executive produced by The-Dream.
"He understood who I am as an artist and as a person. I think that’s really what it’s all about, having someone that understands," August told ThisIsR&B. The Dream has signed on as the co-executive producer of the New Orleans native debut album. "He’s involved in everything that I do. I go play him my sh*t and we just vibe."
