Grammy Award winning R&B/soul veteran Charlie Wilson will be kicking off the new year with a new album. Titled “Love, Charlie,” the album is his sixth studio album overall, and is set for release Tuesday, Jan. 29.
Led by the single “My Love Is All I Have,” the album is currently available for pre-order.
In related news, Charlie Wilson stopped by “Sway In The Morning” earlier this Fall to discuss “Love, Charlie” as well as collaborations with a number of artists, including Kanye West.
When asked about working with younger artists or those new to the game, Wilson said he actually learned a few things from them…
“I learn from a lot of them not to spend all my money again. That made me think right back. Talking to some of them knuckleheads, they got some hits and ain’t got a dime. Far as musically, I have a lot of fun with them,” Wilson jokes in video below.
Earlier this year, Wilson teamed up with Janssen Biotech to launch the Making Awareness A Priority (M.A.P.) program, which brings leading voices together for advocacy and health education via live events. Wilson is a prostate cancer survivor and has worked with the Prostate Cancer Foundation.
With music and his commitment to educate people about prostate cancer, Wilson has been able to sustain the passion and drive that have been hallmarks of his career.
“I’m still living this dream,” says Wilson. “I still love to perform and I’m still having fun. I’m not there just to pick up the check. It’s about the passion and the respect that I have for the game. It keeps me going.”
“Love, Charlie” is due for release Jan. 29.
