Usher Represents For R&B at 2012 American Music Awards

R&B performers were sparse at Sunday’s 2012 American Music Awards, but luckily Usher was on deck to represent, opening the ceremony with a dance medley.

Helping to set the tone right for the award show’s 40th anniversary, the Looking for Myself entertainer, provided a mix of “Numb,” “Climax,” and “Can’t Stop, Won’t Stop” off his seventh album, in a laser and light filled, dance-intensive performance.

It was a huge night for Usher, he later took home the award for Favorite/Soul/R&B Artist, beating out Chris Brown (who also performed that night with Swizz Beatz and Ludacris) and Trey Songz. It will go perfectly with the other seven AMAs Usher has won from previous years.
