22nd annual Glamour Women of the Year Awards at Carnegie Hall on November 12, 2012 in New York City.

This year has been a big one for women in the spotlight. From major accomplishments to groundbreaking initiatives, female icons are leading the way and proving that they can do anything! On Tuesday night at Glamour magazine’s Women of the Year Awards, some of these amazing ladies were celebrated with style. Mary J. Blige, Solange Knowles and Gabby Douglas were just a few of the bold faces in attendance – each making their own unique mark on history this past year.

The evening was an incredible display of sisterhood as these powerful women came together to honor each other’s successes. First up was Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas who received recognition for her achievement in gymnastics during this summer’s London games. She spoke about overcoming adversity and striving to be your best self despite all odds – inspiring those in attendance and viewers around the world alike.

Solange Knowles followed suit by accepting an award for being a fashion icon and leader in music industry activism. The singer used her platform to spread positivity throughout her acceptance speech – reminding us all that when we come together our collective power is unstoppable! Mary J. Blige closed out the extraordinary show with heartfelt words of encouragement before performing “Work That” from her latest album My Life II: The Journey Continues (Act 1). It was certainly an unforgettable occasion that will go down as one of 2012’s most memorable nights celebrating women!

Honorees Of The Event

The night of November 12th was a special one for many women. Glamour magazine’s annual Women of the Year awards celebrated some of the most influential and inspiring female figures from around the globe. From Olympic gold medalist Gabby Douglas to singer Mary J Blige, these incredible ladies were honored for their hard work and dedication to making a difference in the world.

As the event began, host Solange Knowles opened with a powerful speech about diversity and inclusion within all aspects of society. The audience cheered as she highlighted that “We are not just single stories; we are layered.” This idea set the tone for an evening filled with respect and admiration for each woman’s accomplishments.

Throughout the course of the night, countless accolades were given out to those who have made an impact on people’s lives through their artistry, activism, philanthropy or entrepreneurship. After every presentation, heartfelt applause echoed throughout Carnegie Hall – everyone in attendance could feel how much love was present in this room full of empowering women. It was truly a sight to behold!

Celebrities In Attendance

As much as the event was about honoring and celebrating its honorees, it was also a star-studded night. Celebrities including Tina Fey, Blake Lively and Reese Witherspoon were in attendance to show their support for these amazing women. They had nothing but admiration for the award winners, taking time to snap selfies with them and share heartwarming stories of how inspiring they have been to others.

The red carpet saw many more famous faces like Taraji P. Henson, Kerry Washington, Priyanka Chopra Jonas, Viola Davis and Lena Waithe – all wearing stylish outfits that made them look every bit like A-list celebrities! As guests entered Carnegie Hall, media outlets fell over themselves trying to capture each celebrity’s entrance into the building. It really showed just how far this celebration has come since its beginnings 30 years ago.

At the end of the night, everyone felt uplifted by the incredible achievements showcased by each woman – a testament to why Glamour’s Women of The Year Awards is such an important annual tradition. It certainly proved that when we come together and celebrate one another’s successes, great things can happen.

Conclusion

The night of the Women of the Year event was a star-studded celebration filled with powerful women who were honored for their accomplishments. Mary J Blige, Solange Knowles and more attended to show their support for this year’s honorees. Each individual had achieved great things in their respective fields, from Gabby Douglas’ Olympic success to Lena Waithe’s Emmy win.

It was inspiring to see these amazing women come together under one roof and recognize each other’s achievements. The event showed that when we focus on celebrating what makes us unique and use our differences as strength, then anything is possible! It also served as an example that no matter where you come from or what your background might be, anyone can achieve greatness if they work hard enough towards it.

That evening provided a much needed reminder that if we band together, there is nothing stopping us from achieving our goals and dreams. We should all strive to create a world where everyone feels empowered by their own identity and talents so that future generations will have even more successes to celebrate at similar events such as Women of the Year.
