Tameka Raymond’s financial troubles continue to slip deeper, especially after being cut off by her ex-husband Usher. According to reports, Raymond is being sued by her landlord for failing to pay rent and other fees totaling around $50,000.
In a lawsuit filed by Antelope Valley Plaza (AVP), Raymond allegedly owes $36,943.42 for three retail spaces she rented close to two years ago in a Georgia complex. TMZ reports that Tameka signed a two-year lease agreement, which are used for a her business, a play center for kids.
The agreement was to pay $9,966.67 a month, according to TMZ, but Tameka has not paid the bill for months. She also owes AVP more than $4,000 in late charges and $2,000 in unpaid taxes all tolled. The total amount is $49,816.18.
In contrary, Tameka fired back insisting it was AVP who breached the contract. She asked for the suit to be dismissed.
The lawsuit comes on the heels of another eviction Tameka is currently facing. Usher recently placed his $3 million Georgia home on the market and is forcing Tameka to move out. The former couple’s 2009 divorce settlement stated that Tameka was allowed to live at the property, but should move out when the owner aka Usher puts it up for sale and gives her a 60 days notice.
While Tameka may be dealing with financial woes, it’s not the same for ex-husband Usher. Last Thursday (Oct. 25), the Grammy winner shelled out $12,000 for a new puppy. It’s not as bad as it sounds though, Usher purchased the pooch in a charity auction, which took place at the Pencils of Promise Gala in New York City. The event was to collect money and build schools for poor children in Laos, Nicaragua, Guatemala, and Ghana.
“All in the name of feline fun! It took me 2 years but I outbid everyone this year to bring Poppy home to Ush,” Usher tweeted. “Poppy (????) Raymond is what I’m think of namin’ her…however there are two gregarious 3 and 4 year olds that will have the last say…and the responsibility that comes wit her.”
