Ciara is turning a new page with her forthcoming album “One Woman Army.”
According to the “Got Me Good” singer, this time is about “taking more risks” and taking her career to the next level with the man who believed in her from day one.
“I’ve reached a stage in my life where I’m taking more risks and I think that’s where it all starts from. Over time, I have been able to learn more about myself. I’ve been able to have a couple scars, have a couple bruises. I’ve been been able to have some fun things that have happened too so, why not share it,” says Ciara.
Attributing her renewal of sorts to L.A. Reid, Ciara tells Fuse it was like being “recharged” when reconnecting with L.A. Reid at Epic because he signed her over ten years ago and believes in her artistry.
“I was re-inspired… he honestly pushes hard to make the best music possible,” says Ciara.
Fresh off the release of the single and music video for “Got Me Good,” Ciara also believes that change was necessary to produce what fans will hear on “One Woman Army.”
“I’m also in a very comfortable place personally. I understand my environment more so, now I can be free in it. That has been, I feel like, one of the most crucial, necessary things that has happened to me personally,” says Ciara. “I felt a whole new fresh wind again in my life. It’s nothing like being able to have that free feeling. I feel like that is when you make the best music.”
