Marcus is all about R&B and he recently told us what statement he was trying to make. “The impact I’m trying to make as a new artist is to make sure that people understand that music isn’t dead,” he told Singersroom. “People don’t have to sing to do R&B anymore. I think it’s when the rappers decided they wanted to start singing on us. It kind of takes away from the beauty of having an amazing voice, like the Whitney Houstons and the Mariah Careys. I wanna be that guy that they can say he sounds really good and he’s entertaining at the same time.
