K. Michelle is looking forward to having her story validated in court. According to the “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star, Mickey “Memphitz” Wright filing a lawsuit against VH1 and producers of the show will lead to the truth being told once and for all.
“I¹ve always been told that the truth shall set you free. I stand behind my story 100%. I came on the ‘Love & Hip Hop Atlanta’ show mainly because I wanted to give a voice and bring light to a very serious issue,” K. Michelle said in a statement. “I am very grateful to VH1 and Monami Ent. for the opportunity to tell my story, and touch lives worldwide … I look forward to having my day in court and finally having the truth of my story confirmed in a court of law.”
As previously reported, Memphitz filed suit and is requesting compensation for damage to his name and essentially credibility. He claims VH1 and producers behind the hit show provided K. Michelle a platform to knowingly destroy his name with allegations that he beat her.
Speaking with TMZ in response to the latter claim, K. Michelle says he is simply trying to salvage whatever reputation he “may have had.”
“Hopefully others will not have to go through this and then have their stories challenged to this degree because people now want to try to salvage whatever reputation they may have had,” said K. Michelle.
In other news, K. Michelle’s mixtape “0 F**ks Given” has reached over 101,000 downloads on datpiff.com. The effort was released weeks into “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” and features songs like “Girlfriend,” “Jump Right In” and “When Crying Is Easy.”
