Cassie Readies Mixtape, Album Date Set For September

After taking a long music hiatus to work on herself, Cassie returned this year with plans on releasing her sophomore album ‘King of Hearts.” The Bad Boy singer dropped the first single “King of Hearts” in February and planned to release the album in May, but the project suffered several delays, pushing the retail date to September.

Cassie recently told us about showing off her maturity with the forthcoming set insisting, “I definitely wanna show people what I got and what I’m made of and I think I’m definitely gonna surprise people. “

While fans wait for the new album, Cassie will offer a mixtape that will server as a prequel this summer.

For her forthcoming record, she collaborated with Nicki Manji, Young Jeezy, The Neptunes, Danja, Eric Hudson, The Surf Club, SoundzFire and Rob Holiday. Cassie describes her new sound creations as “A cool blend of pop, hip-hop, and ska.”

She added “It’s urban Gwen Stefani meets Aaliyah. I hate referencing people but if you had to compare, that’s it.”
