Singer Beyonce attend the 2012 BET Awards at The Shrine Auditorium on July 1, 2012 in Los Angeles, California.

The BET Awards 2012 was a star-studded event that saw Beyonce take home two awards for Best Female R&B and Video Director of the Year. The night was filled with dazzling performances from some of music’s biggest stars, but it was Queen Bey who stole the show and took center stage as she claimed her accolades in front of a live audience.

As one of the most successful female artists in history, Beyonce has consistently broken boundaries throughout her career, becoming an icon to millions around the world. She is not only loved by fans everywhere for her incredible artistry, but also admired for using her platform to speak out on issues close to her heart.

This year’s win at the BET Awards marks yet another momentous achievement in what has already been an impressive career – one that will continue to inspire many generations to come!

Nominees For Best Female R&B

The 2012 BET Awards were a star-studded event, with many talented female R&B artists competing in the Best Female R&B category. Among those nominated were some of music’s biggest names: Mary J. Blige, Beyoncé Knowles, Estelle, Kelly Rowland and Marsha Ambrosius. Each artist had made significant contributions to the world of contemporary R&B during the past year.

Mary J. Blige released her tenth studio album My Life II… The Journey Continues (Act 1) this April, which featured production from heavyweights such as Swizz Beatz and Bryan Michael Cox. As always, she delivered powerful vocals on tracks like “Why,” singing about love and relationships over an infectious beat. Meanwhile, Kelly Rowland put out Here I Am earlier in the summer; her third solo project proved that she was just as capable of crafting catchy pop singles as slow jams. And Estelle continued to show off her versatility by releasing All Of Me—a mix of soulful ballads and uptempo club bangers produced by David Guetta and Kanye West among others.

Ultimately it was Beyonce who took home the award for Best Female R&B at the 2012 BET Awards ceremony. Her critically acclaimed release 4 showcased both her vocal prowess and songwriting skills while also earning her Video Director of the Year honors later that evening. It was clear that Bey had solidified herself as one of today’s top performers once again – a true testament to hard work paying off!

Other Award Winners At The 2012 Bet Awards

At the 2012 BET Awards, many other awards were given out to recognize a variety of artists and their work. Most notably, Jay-Z won Best Male Hip Hop Artist for his album Watch The Throne, while Nicki Minaj was awarded Best Female Hip Hop Artist for her critically acclaimed sophomore effort Pink Friday: Roman Reloaded. Both artists had made huge strides in hip hop over the past year and showed no signs of slowing down anytime soon. Chris Brown also took home trophies for Viewer’s Choice Award (for ‘Turn Up The Music’) as well as Video Of The Year (‘Beautiful People’).

In addition to honoring R&B and rap acts, two legendary soul singers received special recognition at this years’ ceremony. Anita Baker was honored with a Lifetime Achievement award due to her extensive contributions to music over the last three decades, while Erykah Badu nabbed Centric Award—a new category created by BET specifically designed to commemorate classic songs from the ‘90s and early 2000s.

It was certainly an eventful evening filled with memorable performances and heartfelt acceptance speeches – all culminating in Beyoncé’s wins for Best Female R&B and Video Director of the Year honors. It goes without saying that she deserved both awards after proving just how powerful creativity can be when it’s backed up by hard work!

Conclusion

The night of the 2012 BET Awards was an amazing event for Beyonce. She not only took home the award for Best Female R&B, but also won Video Director of the Year. This just goes to show that her hard work and dedication paid off in a big way.

This is yet another example of how talented she truly is. Not only does she have singing chops, but she can handle directing as well. It’s no wonder why so many people enjoy her artistry! She’s truly one-of-a-kind and deserves all the accolades coming her way.

Clearly, there are few artists who can match up to Beyonce when it comes to talent and skill. With every performance or song released, it becomes more obvious that she is a force to be reckoned with in today’s music industry. Congratulations once again to Beyonce on winning these awards – you deserved them both!
