Beyonce won the Best Female R&B award at the 2012 BET Awards. In her acceptance speech, she says she “fell in love with music by listening to R&B. It’s the core of who I am.” She accepted the award in dedication to Whitney Houston.
Bey scored again with the award for Video Director of the Year for “Party” and “Dance For You” with whom she co-directed with Alan Ferguson. The collaborators thanked each other, and Ferguson gave a shout-out to his girlfriend Solange Knowles for her support.
