Janet Jackson to Produce Film Documenting Transgender Community

Janet Jackson has conquered music and acting. Now the multi-talented entertainer is putting on her producer cap. The “Why Did I Get Married” star has signed on to executive produce a film called “Truth,” highlighting the lives of transgendered people around the world from countries such as Australia, Europe, and Latin America.

Jackson is expected to do some of the on camera interviews, says Brainchild Films, the company involved with the production. In a statement, Jackson mentions that the reason for her involvement in the film is to try to stop discrimination against the transgendered community.

The director of “Truth,” Robert Jason, has covered this subject before, directing a transgendered-themed documentary for the Style network that followed four people from New York who are transgender. Filming for “The Truth” begins this summer.
