Family of late disco queen Donna Summer will pay their last respects in a private ceremony.
Ending rumors of a public service in Tennessee later this month, Summer’s family issued a statement over the weekend.
“The overwhelming outreach from the media, fans and friends alike has been most truly appreciated,” read the statement. “Thank you for continuing to respect the family’s privacy during their time of loss.”
According to Essence, Summer’s family has not released any further information about the private service including whether or not it will be held in Florida.
Summers died Thursday near Naples, Florida. She was 63.
