Chris Brown Launches ‘Dum English’ Toy Collection With Street Artist Ron English

Add toy-maker to Chris Brown’s resume. The “How I Feel” singer is set to launch an exclusive line of collectible toys called Dum English with designer Ron English, who is the artist behind Chris’ F.A.M.E.album cover. Depending on the success of the first launch of the initial 1000 pieces, Dum English plans on product expansion with sneakers, fashion, etc.

The official launch will be in Los Angeles on May 2nd where Brown and English will be at TAG for autograph signing and press. A montage chronicling the creative process behind the making of the collection will be on display, including sketches and moldings. Brown and English will also paint together for guests on a life-size Dum English sculpture for guests. All proceeds will go to the Symphonic Love Foundation, which aims to provide support and funding for arts programs dedicated to women and the artistic development of children.

A huge fan of English, Chris Breezy states, “Hands down right now my guy is Ron English. Ron has to be the more creative, ‘out there’ artist I see. His work is so precise but at the same time so unorthodox. I think it’s incredible to be able to see him do what he does and be a fan,” says Chris Brown. In response, Ron replies, “Chris is one of the sweetest, most talented people I’ve ever met. Working with Chris is like being a kid in a candy store,” explains Ron English. “The ideas we come with are fun and colorful, young and daring.”

An artist himself, Chris Brown owns the site and wants the site to be the grounds for artists to succeed in the technological, cultural, style, and branding niches.

Ron English is one of the most prolific and recognizable artists alive today. Some of his famous works include original characters such as MC Supersized, the obese fast-food mascot featured in the hit movie “Supersize Me,” and Abraham Obama, the fusion of America’s 16th and 44th Presidents that was discussed in the media during the 2008 election.

Brown is scheduled to release his fifth studio album Fortune on July 3, 2012.
