Bilal’s break between his first album ‘1st Born Second’ and second release ‘Airtight’s Revenge’ was about nine years, but the “Restart” singer will not allow a huge delay in time for his third effort. The R&B crooner is wrapping up the recording for his forthcoming album, with plans of releasing it this year.
On his style, Bilal says, “I look at the music that I do as kind of as collage art. Jazz musicians that I knew having them play with Blues cats that I knew and sampling that with Hip Hop being played over it.”
Leading into the project, Bilal has released a mini-documentary series entitled ‘Being Bilal.’ The singer, whom has been allowed access beyond his creative point of view, offers individuals a deeper perspective on the full range of his personality.
