Etta James and Lionel Richie join the likes of renowned musicians including Ella Fitzgerald, Michael Jackson, James Brown, Quincy Jones as members of The Apollo Theater Legends Hall of Fame.
Etta James, a legendary singer, passed away earlier this year after she lost a battle with terminal leukemia and dementia.
Over a span of 50 years, James accumulated six Grammy Awards, a host of top 10 hits including “The Wallflower (Roll With Me, Henry),” “All I Could Do Was Cry,” “Trust In Me,” “Loving You More Everyday” and “Pushover,” and a ton of other accolades.
Lionel Richie, a founder of the Commodores, is a decorated artist/songwriter/producer (“We Are The World,” “All Night Long,” “Lady”).
The Apollo induction ceremony will take place on June 4, 2012.
