Tamar Braxton Inks Solo Record Deal

The youngest Braxton, Tamar, have been garnering attention with her TV quotable lines from reality television show ‘The Braxton Family Values.’ With her name in the headlines, Tamar has signed a recording contract that will allow her a second chance as a solo artist.

Tamar released her debut solo self-titled album in 2000 with collaborations from Missy Elliott and Jermaine Dupri but, the project barely sold 100,000 units. Her sophomore album was scheduled for release in 2004 but was shelved due to label changes.

The excited singer broke the news of the new deal, telling Wendy on The Wendy Williams Show, “My single is coming out in the summer.” In addition to her forthcoming album, Tamar is shooting the new reality show “Tamar & Vince,” a spin-off from “The Braxtons,” which will debut in late 2012.
