X Factor winner Melanie Amaro might have shattered glass with her uptempo version of Aretha Franklin and Otis Redding’s “RESPECT” but, it is not her first single.
Taking to Twitter just before “Respect” made its televised debut in Pepsi’s “King’s Court” commercial, Amaro clarified the song was only recorded for Pepsi.
“Hey everyone, u all have been asking if #respect is my single to answer that question …. No its not it’s the Pepsi commercial song,” Amaro wrote on Twitter.
While it may not have been her official single, “Respect” definitely worked for Amaro, showcasing just why she won “The X Factor”.
Amaro will release her debut album through EPIC.
