Tony Sunshine has been waiting since the early 2000s to release his debut solo album, which has been stalled due to failed record deals and business politics.
Now, after a decade, the proud Puerto Rican R&B singer may finally get his chance at stardom with a planned release of the project via his own record label CutZone/Riot Town.
The former Terror Squad crooner built a buzz by singing hooks for rappers including Cuban Links, Fat Joe, Big Pun and Diddy, in addition to his duet with Lumidee on “She’s Like The Wind.” Now that he has overcome unfortunate business practices, Sunshine will have to convince R&B lovers that he can carry the torch as a solo artists.
“For those people who are expecting the shoot em up bang bang r&b records, that’s not what I’m bringing to the table,” Sunshine told YouKnowIGotSoul. “I’m finally going to be able to bring Tony to the table. Not Tony Sunshine from the Terror Squad, just Tony.”
Sunshine has released his first single “Downfall,” dedicated to all individuals overcoming the many struggles in life.
