Mary J. Blige is no stranger to accolades, and now she has yet another one to add to her list of accomplishments. The Queen of Hip-Hop/Soul has been nominated for a 2012 Golden Globe by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association for her work in the critically acclaimed film, ‘The Help.’
Blige’s ballad “The Living Proof” off of the movie’s soundtrack is up for Best Original Song, against Elton John, Madonna, Chris Cornell, and Brian Byrne. The 69th annual ceremony will air live on January 15th, 2012 from the Beverly Hilton Hotel.
This is the second time that Blige has been nominated in this category. Her first time was in 2007 for her “Never Gonna Break My Faith” duet with Aretha Franklin, which was featured in the movie, ‘Bobby.’
