Frankie J Ready to Take Career Initiative With Upcoming Indie Release

Soul crooner Frankie J is planning to release his first album in five years via his own record label Soulsick Records. Since departing from Columbia Records, he has released several singles and joined the cast of hit mun2’s RPM Miami television series.

The decision to move forward without the support of a major record label was tough for Frankie J.

“It took me a long time to figure that out, which should have been easier for me, but that’s why I waited so long to actually come back into the world and really just chase that dream once again,” Frankie J told YKIGS. “I think I’ve let the fans wait for so long already that it was just time to start taking initiative in my career and just do things independently.”

Now that he is in control of his career, Frankie’s first step is to give fans his first single “How Beautiful You Are” from his forthcoming the EP ‘Courage.’

“How Beautiful You Are” was inspired by a heated date that turned into an uplifting song for women. “I wrote it for the women out there who really see themselves in a different light like, “These jeans don’t fit anymore”. I was just like “All women are beautiful in this world. It’s just they have to give themselves the credit that they deserve”. It’s a positive song and one that is going to hit the heart of the women who hears this song and will appreciate it because I think women nowadays need to hear more men telling them that they’re beautiful.”

Frankie J’s new EP ‘Courage’ will be released digitally on December 7, 2011.
