Soul singer Anthony Hamilton has been busy this past year working on his forthcoming seventh studio album. While details are still minimal about the project, Hamilton did take to his Twitter page to announce the official release date of the yet-untitled opus â December 13th, 2011.
On Wednesday morning, Hamilton tweeted to his followers, “My NEW album is dropping DECEMBER 13! It’s a beast. Can’t wait for y’all 2 hear it. Love y’all.” This album will serve as the follow-up to his 2008 album ‘Point of It All.’
The project is being lead by the Babyface produced single “Woo,” which is also the number one most added song on Rhythmic & Urban radio stations this week. Hamilton also revealed that he & Babyface were inspired to write the song while on their road trip to Tahoe, California because of the breath-taking view.
Back in February, Hamilton was in the early stages of the album and revealed to Singersroom exclusively of its progress.
“It’s going really well,” Hamilton tells Singersroom of the album. “I’m working with some really heavy hitters this time and just branching out. It’s really going well.”
Along with a new album comes a new tour. Though Hamilton has not officially announced tour dates yet, he has revealed that he will be embarking on a tour this winter, which kicks off in Los Angeles on November 9th.
