The queen of Hip-Hop Soul Mary J. Blige will be releasing her new album ‘My Life II⦠The Journey Continues (Act I)’ on November 21st, according to Rolling Stone.
The album will serve as a sequel to her 1994 breakthrough album ‘My Life,’ which was predominantly about the singer’s struggles with drugs and domestic violence. Now, seventeen years later, the sequel focuses more on self-empowerment and the growth she’s experienced these past years.
The first single “25/8” was released on August 25th, and has reached number ten on iTunes for Top R&B/Soul song.
The R&B queen is also currently working on a couple of movie projects and even a follow-up album to the sequel. “We’re going to do Act II, because it’s just too much good music,” says Blige.
