Soul veteran Lalah Hathaway will release her sixth solo studio album, ‘Where It All Begins,’ on October 18, 2011 via Stax Records. The set is led by the synth-driven first single “If You Want To,” penned by Rahsaan Patterson, Jonathan Richmond and Terrence Lilly.

“I feel like I’m at the top of my game, like I’m at the beginning again,” she says, excitedly. “There aren’t many artists, particularly female singers, who after 20 years, are kind of still on the come up. I feel like I’m on the come up.” Album: Where It All Begins Label: Stax Records

Lalah Hathaway is an iconic American singer-songwriter, producer and multi-instrumentalist. She has been a prominent figure in the music industry for over thirty years, releasing critically acclaimed albums such as her Grammy Award winning album “Lalah Hathaway Live”. Her latest offering, “If You Want To Music”, showcases her signature soulful sound with powerful lyrics that are sure to move you. From captivating ballads to upbeat jams, this record embodies everything we love about Lalah’s distinguished career. Let’s take a closer look at what makes “If You Want To Music” so special!

The lead single off of the album, “I’m Coming Back,” sets the tone for the rest of song collection. With its infectious groove and memorable hook, it’s no surprise that it has become one of Hathaway’s most popular songs yet. This track pairs perfectly with other fan favorites like “Hey Girl” and “Where It All Begins.” Each of these singles features unique instrumentation while still maintaining Lalah’s classic bluesy vibe.

Hathaway also experiments with some unexpected styles on the album. The title track blends acoustic guitar riffs with electronic elements to create an entrancing atmosphere; meanwhile tracks like “Let Go” showcase her versatility by incorporating Latin influences into traditional R&B sounds. No matter which style she chooses, each song conveys powerful emotion through her heartfelt lyricism and passionate vocals – making it impossible not to be moved by this incredible work of art!
