American Idol alum Ruben Studdard has inked a new record deal with Shanachie Entertainment for the release of his next album, which is set for a Fall 2011 release. The set will be the follow up to 2009’s ‘Love Is,’ which was released independently via Hickory Records.
“We believe that for all his success, Ruben Studdard is an undervalued artist,” says Shanachie General Manager, Randall Grass. “Part of that may be due to his versatility; he has achieved in so many different areas that people just aren’t aware of the totality of his talent. We are very excited at the prospect of working with Ruben and his team to take him to the next level of success in this new phase of his career.”
The forthcoming album, currently untitled, will boast production from Harold Lilly, (Beyoncé, Alicia Keys and Luther Vandross) and Blac Elvis (Ginuwine, Beyoncé, Fergie, Ludacris).
“I’ve been waiting a really long time for my fans to finally hear the real Ruben. This will be the first time that one producer and one writer will be working on my entire album to create one sound,” states Studdard. “I want my fans to feel like they have been taken on a musical journey by Ruben Studdard.”
Last year, Grammy nominated Studdard launched the successful “Timeless” tour in the US and Canada with Idol peer Clay Aiken.
We hope fans can get to know the real Ruben!
