Brian McKnight – Just Me
Brian McKnight may have taken a short break to host radio and television but you knew he could not resist recording new music. ‘Just Me’ is a double disc of twenty-two songs, that include ten unreleased songs from his extensive catalog. Like Raphael Saadiq’s Stone Rollin’, McKnight is taking it back to the old school on the new project, channeling the influences of Marvin Gaye, Ray Charles and The Temptations. Along with the release of the album, McKnight will offer fans a DVD of ‘Just Me.’

D. Woods – The Grey Area
After a few set backs, former Danity Kane member D. Woods takes her destiny in her own hands by releasing ‘The Grey Area’ on her record label WoodGrane Entertainment. Woods explained the album title as “The Grey Area is the area I have been existing…everybody is in limbo…you might find yourself unemployed or in between professions or you graduate from school and don’t know what to do. Or you are an artist like me who had to make a transition from label to independent situation.” Woods keeps the guest features to a minimum on the seven track EP. One on the few guest appearances is her sister
Shanell (of Young Money) on the “Foolish Dreamer” record.

Emily King – The Seven EP
After a short stint on J Records and a Grammy Nomination, Emily King offers fans another piece of her on ‘Seven.’ With the record label limbo behind her, King had full artist control on her soulful sophomore EP.

Justin Garner – Take It From Here
Emerging singer and songwriter Justin Garner has been showcasing his writing and vocal skills with the releases of ‘The White Labels’ and ‘Sound of My Heart.’ After developing his musical writing style and Pop/R&B production, Garner releases the ‘Take It From Here’ album.

All three records have been warmly welcomed by critics and audiences alike – so let’s see what makes them stand out above the rest!

Album Overviews

Brian McKnight’s latest album, Just Me, is an incredibly personal collection of R&B songs. The title track sets the tone for the entire project: a soulful soundscape filled with honest reflections and timeless melodies about love, loss, and life. From there, listeners are taken on a journey through a variety of styles that range from slow jams to uptempo grooves. There’s something here for everyone as Brian sings his heart out over lush instrumentation.

D. Woods takes a different approach with her new album The Grey Area. Instead of focusing solely on romantic relationships, she broadens her scope by addressing social issues such as racism and misogyny in hip-hop culture. Her raps are sharp yet thoughtful and their message is clear – it’s time to take responsibility for our actions and make changes within ourselves in order to create positive change around us.

Emily King’s Seven showcases her unique blend of jazz-inspired soul music rooted in gospel tradition. She draws inspiration from both classic sounds and modern production techniques while maintaining an upbeat vibe throughout the album. Each song tells stories full of insight and emotion that will resonate with any listener looking for something meaningful to listen to during this difficult time we’re living in. It’s sure to be one of 2020’s most memorable albums!

Artist Backgrounds

No stranger to the music industry, Brian McKnight is a multi-faceted artist and songwriter who has achieved success on both an individual level as well as with groups such as Boyz II Men. He’s won multiple Grammy Awards for his work and is celebrated for crafting timeless love songs over two decades. Just Me marks another impressive addition to his catalog of classic R&B hits.

D. Woods’ journey in hip-hop began early when she joined the girl group Danity Kane at age 18. She released several solo projects before taking a break from music altogether until 2019 – when her acclaimed single “The Grey Area” was born out of her desire to create positive change within her community. The full album continues this mission while also pushing boundaries and showcasing Wood’s unique cadence and flow.

Emily King has been honing her craft since she was 14, eventually touring with Alicia Keys and John Legend after signing with J Records in 2007. Her debut album Seven combines vintage soul influences like Aretha Franklin along with modern production techniques to create something that feels fresh yet familiar at the same time. There’s no doubt Emily will be one of those artists you look back fondly on years down the line – making now the perfect time to get acquainted!

Conclusion

In conclusion, the latest music releases by Brian McKnight, D. Woods and Emily King all offer something unique to listeners. From the contemporary R&B sounds of Brian McKnight’s album “Just Me” to the soulful melodies on Emily King’s album “Seven”, these artists are definitely making their mark in music.

D. Woods’ release “The Grey Area” is a great way for fans to get an inside look into her life and what inspires her musically. She isn’t afraid to put herself out there with this record and it truly shows through her lyrics and beats.

All three albums have been highly praised by critics, showing that each artist has crafted their own sound while still staying true to their roots. Fans should definitely give these new releases a listen as they will not be disappointed!
