Black Eyed Peas Look to Take an Indefinite Hiatus

Black Eyed Peas fans won’t be bumping any new music from the band for a while. The funkadelic, eclectic and edgy group broke the news at their Alton Towers show in Staffordshire recently that they are about to embark on an indefinite hiatus soon.

While the BEP’s are known for taking long sabbaticals – their last one lasting from 2005-2009, no one saw this coming. Fergie told the shocked crowd, that this particular show is “very special” because it will be the “last time we’re going to be in England for a long time.” The band’s frontman chimed in saying, “We want you to know that we love you and thank you for the support you’ve given from the beginning.” In an attempt to soothe fans, Fergie went on to say, “This isn’t going to be the last time you’ll see us.” The group has promised that while they will not be making music together for a long time, the break won’t last forever. went a step further and tweeted:

The @Bep will take a break after the beginning…just like we did from monkey business to the e.n.d…but it doesn’t mean we stop creating.

Can we really go another four years without hits like ‘Boom Boom Pow’, ‘Let’s Get it Started’, and ‘I Gotta Feeling’? Thoughts on what could have caused the BEP to take this hiatus?
