Pop singer Justin Bieber was attacked by an unidentified man today (June 23) while signing autographs for fans. According to reports, the attacker jumped over a barrier and knock the “Baby” hitmaker to the ground before Bieber’s security team tackled him to the ground and handed him off to the authorities.
Bieber was attending a meet & greet event with his fans outside of Macy’s department store, where he was launching his new fragrance “Someday.” His injuries were said to be “minor” by local news teams but sources close to the incident said the entertainer was left shaken.
“Bieber came inside looking very shaken up and holding his arm,” an eyewitness tells okmagazine.com. “While inside, he was comforted by his dad and his security guard Kenny,” “Scooter Braun, his manager, was also on the scene.”
He was ushered back inside the store, where the promotional event continued.
As for the assailant, he was arrested and taken into custody. Currently his motives are not clear but TMZ reports he was an undercover officer who was trying to help the star after the crowd became unruly.
