After launching a monumental comeback last year (2010) with the release of his latest album ‘Second Chance,’ El DeBarge dropped from the public eye after suffering a relapse in his battle against substance abuse.
“I hate to disappoint my fans but it is necessary for me to take the time to work on me so that I may continue to share my music and my story with everyone,” DeBarge told fans before returning to rehab in February (2011).
Now, DeBarge is ready to resume his comeback at the upcoming 2011 Essence Music Festival, his first concert since leaving rehab. The veteran R&B crooner will take his extensive catalog to the main stage and we hope event-goers will love every minute of it.
