Gospel/R&B veteran Yolanda Adams has been on music hiatus for over 5 years but she was keeping very busy. During her time away the multi-Grammy winner launched a new clothing line, fragrance and real estate business and also worked on developing a turkey burger for busy moms.
Now after “having so much fun” and forgetting “about the music,” Adams recently released her eight studio album “Becoming,” which is jammed packed with tons of uplifting and inspirational songs and lead by the single “Be Still.”
“My direction has never really changed, because I don’t think that you can really work gimmicks in gospel music,” Adams tells EURweb. “With gospel music, there is this central theme that always comes around about the love of God, the love of Jesus and the power that you have through Jesus Christ. You don’t need a gimmick when you have that.”
For the new project, which is the follow up to ‘Day By Day’ and available exclusively at Walmart, Adams wanted to showcase her new found happiness.
“The more I grow and the older I get, the more I am enjoying my life and know how precious it really is,” she says. “That’s what I wanted to convey in the music. You can live a wonderful life, you can love God with all your heart and you can love your husband or wife very passionately and have a balance in your life. I live by balance.”
