Jessie J Still Performs for London Fans after Tearing a Ligament

Showing fans the true meaning of dedication and perseverance, British sensation, Jessie J still managed to perform for fans after enduring a serious injury on Saturday. While in rehearsals perfecting her performance for London’s Summertime Ball the next day, the singer fell off a platform onstage at Wembley Stadium. Jessie was immediately admitted into the hospital where it was discovered that the singer-songwriter had torn a major ligament in her foot. Putting the pain aside, Jessie took the time in the hospital to reach out to her fans – who she affectionately calls her ‘heartbeats’, to let them know what happened.

For the fans waiting outside Wembley Stadium attempting to meet the songstress, she tweeted, “Just want to let my #heartbeats (ones waiting outside wembley) know that I have been taken to hospital after falling off a platform.” She went on to say, “I have ripped a main ligament in my foot and have been put on crutches and told to rest. I’m in a lot pain :( so please don’t wait in the cold for me.. #sorry!”

Down but not out, Jessie calmed fans’ concerns about whether her injury would cause her to cancel Sunday’s performance. She tweeted, “Don’t get it twisted! I’m gonna be singing tomorrow at #STB even if I have to crawl, be carried or be wheeled onto stage! My foot is 3 times its normal size but my #heartbeats RULE and I will NOT [LET] YOU DOWN!”

Spoken like a true performer!
