Singer Mary J. Blige received the award for Fragrance of the Year in the Direct to Consumer category as well as the Sales Breakthrough Winner at the annual Fifi Awards, the prestigious perfume awards. Her scent called “My Life,” was created through a partnership with Carol’s Daughter founder Lisa Price. Blige sold a record breaking 60,000+ bottles in a day on Home Shopping Network (HSN), she was the first to sell that amount on HSN.
The Grammy Award winner thanked her fans on Twitter tweeting, “I’m so excited to tell my family the My Life fragrance won 2 huge awards at the FiFi’s tonight!!!! Thank you so much!!! Thank you to every one who voted for the fragrance, purchased it and loves it!!!!!”
In addition to fragrance award, Blige is recording material for her tenth album ‘My Life Too, The Journey Continues,’ acting as the lead role in the Nina Simone biopic ‘Nina,’ and co-starring in the ‘Rock of Ages’ film with Tom Cruise.
