Music producer, Khari “Needlz” Cain, is known for his contribution to Hip Hop after producing hits for 50 Cent, Fabolous, Ludacris amongst others. After co-producing Bruno Mars hit single “Just the Way You Are” with The Smeezingtons, Needlz is now being recognized for his contribution to pop culture after winning the ASCAP Pop Award, which is one of the highest honors for a producer or songwriter.
“Both winning a Grammy and receiving the ASCAP Pop Award are major,” Needlz says. “Overall though, just being relevant after so many years is a big accomplishment to me. So many people come and go, and I just had the best year of my career thus far, so I’m definitely blessed. I’m all about the music these days – I’m really all for making an impact, it’s about more than money to me.”
The next step for Needlz is returning to his Hip Hop roots by working on his artist Honors English full length album. Not to be pigeon holed, Needlz will continue to explore a variety of music genres to create music.
“I find myself listening to a variety of music these days, and eventually I want to get in to dance and electronic music,” he says. “I’m just looking for the right artist to break in with.”
